For primary and secondary school students

At L'Auberge du Mont, we’ve got everything you need to learn the fun way. Our outdoor education classes are a great opportunity to get to know the mountains and the forest. Nature is a marvelous classroom that encourages students to be observant and use their senses. Come discover what nature has to teach and enjoy a truly memorable experience !

L'Auberge du Mont shares its expertise and leadership with teachers and students through its outdoor education and recreation programs. These intensive single and multi-day programs are designed to meet educational objectives in the field of environmental education (EE).

In addition to providing the environment, facilities, equipment and activity leadership you need, we also adapt our educational resources and activities to your school’s specific learning goals. We make a point of integrating your goals into our programs and work closely with teachers to evaluate requirements and develop projects. Think of us as your outdoor education partners !

Accommodation

L'Auberge du Mont has 34 comfortable rooms, each with a private bathroom. Students stay three or four per room and bring their own sleeping bags, towels, and toiletries.

Food

We serve full and varied meals that include soup, main course (two choices), vegetables, salad bar, and choice of desert and beverage (milk or juice). We also provide snacks for groups participating in multi-day programs.

Animation

Our dedicated and dynamic group leaders help bring our programs to life. We have a ratio of one guide per 12 to 15 students. Program staff all undergo intense training and bring significant additional experience to the job. Our program directors are attentive to your needs and will ensure that your stay is rich and rewarding.

Resources

L'Auberge du Mont has complete facilities for a full range of activities, including a charming old-fashioned common room, a fireplace, meeting rooms, and a cafeteria with great views of the Jacques Cartier River.

And let’s not forget the beautiful outdoor setting an outstanding natural classroom in its own right !

Getting ready

We place a great deal of importance on properly preparing each group stay. We meet with the students at school ahead of time and discuss program goals and priorities with teachers. It’s our way of ensuring we’re all on the same page. We also offer the option of presenting the program to parents.

Multi-day Outdoor Education Programs

Our outdoor education programs are principally designed for primary school students in cycles 1, 2 and 3. During these two to four-day programs, students and teachers participate in activities built around a variety of natural science themes and using the natural environment as the educational focus. Activities are determined on the basis of age, interests, and educational objectives.

Outdoor Activity Day

Our outdoor activity day program is specially designed for students in high school and elementary school cycle 3. Participants enjoy an exciting opportunity to try a range of fall, winter or springtime outdoor activities.

Adventure Plus Activity Day

A day-long introduction to “advanced" outdoor activities, featuring rock climbing, river canoeing, and survival skills. Available at certain times of year only. Contact us for more information on conditions and rates.
